MITA Countersunk Shift Knob

After experiencing the 2002 NSX Type S, we were thoroughly impressed by the precision and feel of its shift knob. Although the original OEM version is no longer available, we have meticulously developed an alternative that mirrors its exceptional quality and performance.

Material & Craftsmanship

Our shift knob is crafted from Ti316L titanium, renowned for its strength and durability. The process begins with machining a solid billet to exact specifications. To achieve the distinctive bronze-ish silver finish, we follow an advanced electroplating process. This not only enhances the knob’s appearance but also provides a protective layer, ensuring long-lasting beauty and resilience. Additionally, the knob features a countersunk design with a depth of 12mm, which allows for a sleek, flush fit of the shift lever and improves overall comfort and aesthetics.

Performance & Compatibility

Weighing 490g, this shift knob offers significant improvements in shifting precision. The added weight allows for smoother gear engagement, enhancing driver control. It is compatible with both NSX and S2000 models, making it a versatile choice for upgrading gear shift performance.

Customization for NSX & S2000

• NSX Installation: Our shift knob is compatible with both the factory gear selector and the extended straight thread gear selector. The extended selector allows the knob to sit lower for shorter throws, which is ideal for the NSX’s cable-driven transmission.
• S2000 Installation: Unlike the NSX, the S2000 benefits from a slightly higher knob position. Our shift knob, which features a 12mm countersunk depth, is designed to sit 12mm higher than the standard shift knob and 25mm higher than the CR ball knob. This design provides improved leverage and a more precise shifting feel.

Special Note for NSX Owners

This shift knob replicates the factory model but is not designed for use with the clip-in feature of the 1991-2001 NSX shift boots. For optimal fit and finish, we recommend pairing it with the NSX-R, Type-S, or factory 2002-05 shift boots.
